BTD Manufacturing

One of the largest metal parts job-shops in the United States, BTD Manufacturing differentiates itself from the competition by offering a range of auxiliary services to help reduce customers’ overall costs. BTD wanted a business management solution based on the Microsoft® .NET Framework to fit with its Microsoft infrastructure and provide a scalable foundation for its growing distributed operations. After examining several solutions, BTD decided to implement Microsoft Dynamics™ AX, customizing it with help from Microsoft Gold Certified Partner Avanade. This new solution provides for BTD’s future growth and empowers BTD’s people with customized tools that help halve the time spent on production, scheduling, and planning. Because data is easier to locate, verify, and act on with Microsoft Dynamics AX, people can focus on more value-adding tasks.

Tempur World

Tempur World manufactures, markets, and sells pressure-relieving foam mattresses. To maximize the business value of the outsourced service, the company needed to deploy comprehensive paperless communications between the Tempur World factory, sales department, and the DFDS warehouse, increase visibility of stock levels in the DFDS warehouse and extend the successful outsourcing experiment to central and southern Europe. In 2003, Tempur World deployed a new system based on Microsoft® BizTalk® Server 2004 and Microsoft Dynamics™ AX. Using the new technology, Tempur World exchanges operational data with DFDS in a preferred electronic data interchange (EDI) format.

ASSA ABLOY

The Romanian subsidiary of Sweden-based ASSA ABLOY produces lock systems that can be found in private homes and businesses worldwide. Since the company went live with Microsoft Dynamics™ AX 3.0 in 2007, it has reduced its IT costs and manual processes. Employees now save five hours a month when compiling monthly reports, and the IT team continues to customize the system to adapt to changing market needs.

Dahe Machine Tool

Disparate IT systems at Chinese industrial tools manufacturer Dahe Machine Tool resulted in poor visibility of business data and frequent financial losses. The company rolled out Microsoft Dynamics™ AX business management software to automate manufacturing processes. It has since seen an annual reduction in material costs of 5 million China Yuan (U.S.$660,000), a 30 per cent reduction in inventory, and increased turnover of 40 per cent.

Hitachi Power Tools Netherlands

Hitachi Power Tools is a subsidiary of Japan-based, Hitachi Koki Co, one of the largest electrical groups in the world. It has seven branches serving Europe and a market share of nearly 40 per cent. When Hitachi Power Tools Netherlands had to replace its management system, it presented a good opportunity for other European branches of Hitachi to follow. Since installing Microsoft Dynamics™ AX processes are faster and customer service is better.

Corgi, the leading name in die-cast scale models and one of Britain’s best known brands, has been producing models for over 40 years. With its existing accounting software struggling to cope with increasing business demands, Corgi sought an integrated solution — utilising the latest technology — to streamline the business and provide a rapid return on investment. Thanks to its choice of Microsoft® Dynamics™ AX. Corgi now has that integrated solution, and has seen downtime reduced to zero.
